The Pittsburg County Free Fair also features a carnival with popular amusement rides and a wide array of food vendors and concessions.  For children there will also be a magician performing illusions and there will also be a talent contest.

Come to the Pittsburg County Free Fair and enjoy the annual horse show featuring halter and performance classes.  Timed events include barrels, poles and stakes.  All barns will be open during this event, allowing fair-goers to peruse a variety of livestock exhibits.  Animals featured at this event include chickens, pigeons, rabbits, goats, cows, sheep and swine.  Judging contests for livestock will take place during the run of the fair, and visitors are welcome to watch as participants attempt to clinch first place in their divisions."

Lowe's Build and Grow Workshop

We just attended our first Lowe's Build and Grow free kids workshop. I have to say I was VERY impressed. It was a lot of fun, it's free, and the kids had a blast. It was a great way to mix things up here in McAlester. We always enjoy taking the kids to the park so it was nice to get a change. You can visit their website here to register for the next clinic and get more information on age restrictions et cetera. The next one is Saturday September 13, at 10:00 a.m.
